My birthday weekend was perfect! I feel like such a lucky girl to have so many awesome friends and family to help me celebrate.
So far being “grown up” has taught me:
- It’s totally okay to pretend the free cupcakes at the bar where your boyfriend (and tons of favorite bands) are playing are in celebration of you. Only explain your delusion to people crazy enough to go along with it.
- Having people buy you birthday drinks all night is fun…but it’s okay to turn down a few, and on the off chance that you don’t, it’s good to know someone who will not only drive but will buy you samosas at 3am cause all you’ve had is drinks and cupcakes.
- Frank’s has the best brunch in Austin.
- Chocolate cake shots are amazing when paired with quick ice cream sundaes and silly movies (Sidenote: Attack The Block was awesome).
- It’s good to have friends and friends of friends and friends of friends of friends who are amazing people. It makes a weekend trip that much more worthwhile.
- No matter how far away I go (not even far this time) or how long I stay gone (not long this time, either), I will always be excited to be back home.
Glad I could be of assistance, honey :-)
