These pictures were taken during the show I played @ Cherrywood Coffeehouse in Austin, TX on Monday, November 22nd, 2010 w/ Bubbleface & the Bell Riots. This was the final show of my “Crooked Purple Rain” tour, and I commemorated it by driving my van into the standing area of the venue, and performing on top of and around the van. Bubbleface augmented their electronic rhythm-and-noise improvisations with free-associative spoken-word from Trenton Willey, who then performed under the name of “MC Clitfart.” (I had nothing to do with that.) ”Riot-prog” band The Bell Riots played one of its last and best shows as a quartet.
It’s amazing how much has changed since then. The Bell Riots are now a duo, and Bubbleface rarely plays live anymore now that one of the members lives in Arizona. I moved out of the house that I used to share with a member of Bubbleface, and I now live with the remaining members of the Bell Riots…
…and with that, I have finally posted all of the best pictures from the “Crooked Purple Rain” tour. I’m ashamed that it took a year for me to do so, but living my life frequently gets in the way of documenting it. Let’s see how long it’ll take for me to archive these photos on my actual website…
