Mundane Life Update

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m glad that my rhythm section decided to cancel C.Spaniels practice tonight.  My drummer has been putting in 12-hour shifts @ his job this week; I worked overtime @ mine AND played two shows with the Bell Riots.  Conversely, my bassist spent the weekend partying, which I can’t fault him for, because SOMEBODY had to do it.  We were all in need of rest and relaxation this evening.

I just washed this weekend out of my hair (literally), and I’m devoting the rest of the night to doing laundry, listening to the records I bought this week, and (maybe) editing more live videos of local bands.  

All three of my bands have local shows booked within the next two weeks.  The Bell Riots will play Hotel Vegas this coming Thursday; Zest of Yore will play Beerland on Wednesday, the 11th; and the Cocker Spaniels will play Club 1808 on Saturday, the 14th.

I plan to visit my birthplace of New York City during the last weekend of July.  One of my friends in Brooklyn is organizing a BBQ for members of the Facebook group that she and I moderate together, and I’ll kick myself if I don’t attend.  I feel like I need to visit NYC @ least once a year anyway, in order to remain centered.
